Why "the elevator music" to close an otherwise a 5 star one?
I would have given this solid family adventure a 5 stars would I not hear a "What happened" disaster. This is what is played in the elevators and shopping malls.
Forget the last number, Papa and The Family have done it again- solid, bluesy and funky. The most impressive sound on this one is Tim Warfield's reeds.

Another first class B-3 album!
This CD is a great cross section of what Papa John can do to make your ears ring and your soul feel good! There is the standard Defrancesco fare on this album that is never a disappointment- (some boogaloo, some blues and soul, and even some R&B) but on top of the old standard B-3 stuff there are a couple tunes that stretch into the outer limits (Funky cover of the Oceans Eleven soundtrack "160 Million Dollar Chinese Man" and a really spacey and smooth "What Happened" featuring son Joey on electric piano.)

Other noteworthy things about this album: Young saxophonist Tim Warfield who brought a lot to the table on this recording, Glenn Ferracone who managed to play the drums while recording the session at the same time, and last but not ever least the kids: Son Johnny on guitar (who produced and penned a couple of the tunes), and other son Joey on piano and trumpet who was playing with a cold according to the liner notes.

Lou Donaldson quote
...the pulse is what really brings people to the music — even rap musicians are smart enough to make a rhythm track first. Unfortunately, they start rapping on top of it...
