And of course, Jimmy Smith on Organ. If you like Jimmy Smith on organ combined with a big band this album is for you though Smith's organ play is not as energetic and unstoppable as on other albums with a big band and a large brass section like The Cat, Peter & The Wolf and Any Number Can Win. Some people call it trash or rubbish. We won't go that far but to be honest, there have been times we thought it isn't Jimmy Smith on organ at all. Email: / Website: I Don't Like This Guy This album is just more fluff from an already difficult to listen musician. Jazz is supposed to be easy to listen to, quiet, and for those that prefer blondes, not exotic, ethnically diverse brunettes. I cannot believe what negative impact this man had on keyboard players and other people that play this sorry piece of s***. I heard just a few notes of three of these songs on my local NPR station. That was enough for me to turn off my radio. There is a program on a local, AM radio station where I live that refuses to play this guy and anyone like hime (thank God). That's because the DJ knows all about jazz and real jazz, not jazz fused with gospel or blues. Tradition, straightforward jazz that is easy to listen to and easy to talk about and praise. At least the NPR station only plays like one or those of these brainwashing pieces per hour. I know jazz has evolved over time, but real, true jazz is free of these kinds of complicated electronics. I don't want to view jazz in a different way. I will have piano trios or piano combos, but not this s***. No thank you. I feel very sorry for anyone that likes him and related artists. You obviously have to be on hard drugs and liquor to listen, put up with, and love this s***. Guess what, just about keyboard player and manipulator of this instrument has died from drugs. The only people that like Jimmy Smith are white, gay, uber-smart, gay people from California and the West Coast as well as Latin/Hispanic, Eastern/Southern Europeans, Italians, and black people. IMHO Joey D. learnt how to play incredible intros listening to this album or similar intros on other albums. There's no doubt Jimmy played on this album.
