Reviews from Amazon

Closer to it!
Even better than I remembered. I heard the album at a party in the 70's, and ask who that was. It was Brian Auger, and he is just fabulous! A definite buy!!!

Augers best stuff...
This album is some of Augers best, imo...His early music had a nice mix of jazz and rock.

Closer to It, Brian Auger
Anything Brian Auger has done is good. This is one of his classic CD's. A warm feeling in music. Well worth the $ and time to listen. [...]

Heart and Soul
Brian Auger captured a moment in time with this album. I listen to it every few years, and take a jog down Memory Lane. Still love it from start to end.
Thanks Brian................

Classic Rock Never Sounded Better
I had forgotten about this album for a long time. Then one night while listening to my favorite jazz station, I heard the beginning of "Happiness Is Just Around The Bend" and within five seconds I knew what it was. Wow, it took me back to the days of album oriented rock and at one time I recalled I had owned it on vinyl.
If you love jazzy rock with soulful overtones then try this one. It is solid all the way through and includes a couple of alternative takes. If you're going on a little cruise, pop it in and enjoy the ride!

Some of the finest music ever made!!
Brian Auger is an under-appreciated musical giant and this CD ranks up there with his finest... I've loved this since the album came out and was thrilled to see it on CD a few years ago... I'm wearing out my copy (if that's possible:) A joyous musical event and most highly recommended!!

Jazz lovers...
This is - I believe - Brian Auger's first album and probably the finest. If you are a jazz enthusiast you must add this to your collection.

I've looked everywhere for this CD and was told it was out of print; however, Amazon has it and I was thrilled. I couldn't buy it fast enough.

Had it in vinyl years ago, but I really love the clarity of the CD.

Tasty Tunes
This is an outstanding piece of work from what seems to be an very overlooked group of musicians. I highly recommend this.

A blast from the past
After trying several times previously to purchase this CD, only to find it sold out, I am glad I finally have it. I remember this well from the 70s (as a vinyl LP), before we used the term "fusion" very extensively to describe music that is a mixture of rock and jazz.

This CD is a good blend of musical forms--primarily rock and jazz, good vocals, with a little R&B thrown in, and then stirred. Enjoy.

funky all the time
Brian Auger let himself in this one to take his funk etitude to the top. he bland it with some latin rock and bluse influenses and the result is somthing thet you will listen to over and over agein. buy it now.
