4 Cats
Today a video that isn't undisputed on You Tube. See for yourself. There's a downside to almost everything. Multiple Hammond B-3 on one stage is kind off uncommon. On top of that we didn't know Paul Shaffer and Doug Riley. More research on to be done. Back5 comments., write a comment How could you not know Paul Shaffer????? Don't you watch the Late Show with David Letterman? He is the cat that leads the shows house band, and he rocks that Hammond B-3 like a baby! Smooth, cool, and yes one of the greatest ORGANIST band leaders on TV the other is the Dude from the Saturday Night Live band...I do not know his name! Doug Riley Doug was a Canadian organist and arranger, who did a lot of work in commercials/TV (it's pretty normal to hear Hammond in commercial or film music in Canada because of Doug) Doug passed away last August at the age of 62. Hammond queries please tell me the name of the organist on the recording " since I fell for you" by Houston Person recorded in the late sixties early seventies thanks To Mike Stamsid If you mean the second track of the album "The Real Thing" by Houston Person, the name of the organist is Jimmy Watson. The album is on this site. Search for "Person" of "real" in the upper right corner of this page. Doug Riley Info Love your informative site! I recently posted a fairly in-depth piece on Doug Riley, including a lot of his B3 playing from the 70s. Hope you can find some helpful info on him there! http://soundological.blogspot.com/2008/12/dr-music-dr-music.html Thanks for all your excellent work! |
