Questions about the Inventory menu

Question: Browsing through The Hammond Jazz Inventory by Band confuses me. I can't find the artists I am looking for.

Answer: This probably is related to the different meaning of musician and band. In the Hammond Jazz Inventory a band is the name of a person or group responsible for a recording. The name appears in the database as it printed on the recording. So when you are browsing the database by Bands by Band name and you are looking for recordings of Jack McDuff choose "J" in the top alphabet menu to find recordings that where released under the name "Jack McDuff" and choose "B" to find recordings under the name "Brother Jack McDuff".

Question: So how do I find the real person Jack McDuff, whatever he calls himself on a recording.

Answer: Choose "Musician" in the "Browse" menu and choose "M". Default you will be browsing by Lastname now. So now choose "M" in the top alphabet menu and you'll find McDuff, Jack.
