The organ isn't in the lead. Don't be fooled. Straight jazz, excellent musicians, great guitarist and yes, your share of organ too.
The organ isn't in the lead, the trumpet isn't in the lead an even though the excellent guitarist Jeff Barone is the bandleader, the guitar isn't in the lead. Jeff himself says: I was trying to make a cd that sounds like a group effort. I put out one other CD under my name before this one called "Crazy Talk" that was pretty guitar-centric. It's funny because a couple reviews I received on "Open Up" said that it was unfortunate that I sound like a sideman on my own record (end quote). But don't misunderstand. This is straight jazz from excellent musicians and yes, with a fair share of organ too.
